Updating Chrome extensions is crucial for maintaining security, performance, and functionality while ensuring access to the latest features and bug fixes. Extensions are designed to update automatically in your browser without any action needed on your part.
However, in some cases, a few factors outside a developer's control can disrupt the auto-update process. If an extension seems outdated despite expecting an update, you can force a manual update.
To update your extensions, please follow the steps below:
On a Mac:
Open Google Chrome
Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner
Select "Manage extensions"
Enable "Developer mode" in the top-right
Click "Update" to check for updates
If available, extensions will update automatically
On a PC:
Open Google Chrome
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right
Go to "More tools" > "Extensions"
Enable "Developer mode" in the top-right
Click "Update" to check for updates
If available, extensions will update automatically
If you continue to experience issues with the Clipper Tool despite forcing an update, please contact us via the In-App chat or at support@gatherit.co.
Note: Once you have updated your clipper, you must log in the first time you relaunch it. You will use the same credentials used to log in to your Gather account.
