Selecting Items

Learn how to select one item, multiple items, or everything in a project from both Grid View and Spreadsheet View.

To take bulk action on items in Gather exporting, updating status, duplicating, archiving, or editing, you first need to select the items.

πŸ’‘ If you don't select any items, Gather treats your action as "apply to all." You'll get a confirmation before anything runs project-wide, so you don't have to worry about accidental bulk changes.

You can select items from either Grid View or Spreadsheet View. The mechanics differ slightly because the views are laid out differently.

From Grid View

Select one item

Hover over an item card and check the box in the upper-left corner.

Select all items in an Area

Once at least one item is selected, hover over the Area name to reveal the Select All in Area option. Click it to select every item in that area. You can also select all items in the project using the top-level Select All box.

Clear your selection

To deselect everything, click Select All in Area again to uncheck it.

From Spreadsheet View

To switch views, click Display Options in the action bar and choose Spreadsheet View.

Select individual items

Check the box next to each item you want.

Select all items on the current page

Check the box at the top left of the spreadsheet, next to the column headers.

πŸ“ This only selects items on the page you're viewing β€” typically 50 at a time. To select across the whole project, use the next option.

Select every item in the project

Click the Select All checkbox at the top right of the Spreadsheet View.

Clear your selection

Uncheck the same checkbox you used to select.

Good to know:

  • Page selections don't carry over. If you select items on one page and navigate to another, the selection clears automatically.

  • Need items across multiple pages? Use Filters to narrow your view, or adjust rows per page to pull them onto a single page.

  • Still can't get everything on one page? Switch to Grid View, which handles multi-page selection differently.
