When you clip an item from a website, the Clipper looks for attachments available on that page.

Scroll to the bottom of the Clipper panel to see a list of attachments that can be saved. These are files the Clipper can automatically add to your item.

Save Attachments While Clipping

To save an attachment:

  1. Open the Clipper on the website you are clipping.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Clipper panel.

  3. Review the list of available attachments.

  4. Check the box next to any attachment you want to save.

  5. Click Save to Gather

If you are unsure what a file is, click the attachment link to preview it. You can then return to the Clipper and select it if needed.

When Attachments Cannot Be Saved Automatically

Some websites display downloadable files that actually open in a new browser tab.

When an attachment opens in a new tab, the Clipper cannot save it automatically.

In this case, download the file manually and upload it to the item after it has been saved in Gather.

Most websites do allow attachments to be saved directly, and those files will appear in the Clipper.

Manage Attachments After Saving

After saving an item, open it in your project and navigate to the Attachments section.

From there, you can:

  • Include attachments in exports by selecting the export checkbox

  • Control client visibility by clicking the eye icon

    • A green eye means the attachment is visible to clients

Best Practices

  • Preview attachments before saving if the file name is unclear

  • Enable export and client visibility settings as soon as the item is saved

  • Manually upload files that do not appear in the Clipper
