π₯ Prefer to watch?
Here is a short video walkthrough of this process.
When you clip an item from a website, the Clipper looks for attachments available on that page. Scroll to the bottom of the Clipper panel to see a list of files you can save alongside your item.
Save Attachments While Clipping
Open the Clipper on the website you're clipping.
Scroll to the bottom of the Clipper panel.
Review the list of available attachments.
Check the box next to any attachment you want to save.
Click Save to Gather.
If you're unsure what a file is, click the attachment link to preview it. You can then return to the Clipper and select it if needed.
When Attachments Can't Be Saved Automatically
Some websites display downloadable files that actually open in a new browser tab. When this happens, the Clipper can't automatically save the file. In this case, download the file manually and upload it to the item after it's been saved in Gather.
π Note: Most websites do allow attachments to be saved directly. Files that can be saved will appear in the Clipper panel automatically.
Manage Attachments After Saving
After saving an item, open it in your project and navigate to the Attachments section. From there, you can:
Include attachments in exports by selecting the export checkbox.
Control client visibility by clicking the eye icon. A green eye means the attachment is visible to clients.
π‘ Best Practices
Preview attachments before saving if the file name is unclear.
Set export and client visibility settings as soon as the item is saved.
Manually upload files that don't appear in the Clipper.
