The Gather Clipper can be configured to automatically create new supplier contacts when saving items from the web. This saves time and keeps your Contacts list up to date without manual data entry.

Here is a short video walkthrough of this process.

Step 1: Open Clipper Settings

Open the Gather Clipper in your browser, click the three dots (โ‹ฎ) in the top-right corner, and select Settings from the dropdown menu.

๐Ÿ‘‰ For more on Clipper settings, see Customize Your Clipper Tool Settings.

Step 2: Enable Automatic Supplier Creation

Find the option labeled "Create New Suppliers from Clipper" and check the box to enable it.

You can also toggle the "Remember Last" settings here to have the Clipper remember your Project, Area, or Vision Board for future clips.

Step 3: Save a New Supplier

Once enabled, the Clipper will look for the supplier whenever you're on a product page. If the supplier isn't already in your Gather account, the Supplier field will say "No Supplier." Type the name of the supplier, click Add, fill out the rest of your product details, and click Save to Gather. Gather will automatically create a new profile for that supplier in your Contacts list, including the website URL.

๐Ÿ’ก Pro Tip: The Importance of URLs

The Clipper uses the website URL to recognize suppliers.

  • Automatic Recognition: If a supplier is already in your Contacts with their website URL saved, the Clipper will automatically populate the Supplier field the next time you clip from that site.

  • Manual Cleanup: If existing contacts aren't showing up in the Clipper, go to your Contacts library and make sure the Website field is filled out for those organizations.
