Gather lets you set default project settings so every new project starts with the date format, currency, and markup percentage you use most. These defaults save time and keep your projects consistent.

How to Access General Settings

1. Click the Account icon in the bottom-left navigation bar.

2. Select Settings from the menu.

Setting Your Defaults

On the General Settings page, you'll see the Project Settings Defaults section. Any changes you make here will automatically apply to every new project you create.

Basics

Date Format — Choose how dates appear across your projects. Options include MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, and YYYY/MM/DD. Click the dropdown to select your preferred format.

Financials

Currency — Set the default currency for new projects. Click the dropdown to choose from available currencies (e.g., US Dollar, Euro, British Pound).

Markup % — Set a default markup percentage that will be pre-filled for new projects. Enter the percentage you typically use.

Area Codes

Show Codes for Areas — This toggle controls whether area codes are displayed in your projects. By default, this is turned on. If you prefer not to use area codes, you can flip this switch to turn them off.

Good to Know:

  • These defaults are applied when you create a new project — they won't change existing projects.

  • You can always override these settings at the project level in the project's Settings. The defaults are just a starting point.

  • Changes to General Settings take effect immediately for any new projects created after the change.
