How to Hide Areas from Clients and Your Project View

Learn how to hide areas from your client's view while keeping them visible in your own project, and how to hide areas from your project view entirely.

In Gather, you can control area visibility in two separate ways:

  • Hide from clients โ€” the area won't appear in your client's view, but you can still see it in your project

  • Hide from your project view โ€” the area is also removed from your own "All Items" view

These controls are independent, so you can hide an area from your client while keeping it visible to yourself.

Hiding an Area from Clients

To hide an area from your client, click the eye icon next to the area name in the Areas panel on the right side of your project. When an area is hidden from clients, the eye icon will show a slash through it.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: The area will still be visible in your own project view โ€” only the client won't be able to see it. To make it visible to clients again, simply click the eye icon once more.

Hiding an Area from Your Project View

If you also want to remove the area from your own "All Items" view, click the three-dot menu (โ‹ฎ) next to the area name.

Then select "Hide From All Items."

Hidden areas will appear grayed out in your area list, making it easy to see which areas are hidden at a glance.

Good to Know

  • Hiding from clients and hiding from your own view are separate controls โ€” you're no longer forced to hide from both at once

  • The eye icon with a slash indicates an area is hidden from clients

  • Grayed-out areas in your area list indicate they're hidden from your project view

  • Areas hidden from "All Items" are not included in the Selections Total
