Client Settings

Choose what your client can see and do in a project.

Written by Scottie Elliott

Client settings control what your client sees in a project and what they can do there. You set them separately for each project.

Note: On a legacy plan (Solo, Studio, Firm, Enterprise, Spec Lite, or Spec Pro)? See Client Settings (Legacy Plans).

Open Client Settings

  1. Open your project and click the Settings gear icon in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select the Clients tab.

Choose What Clients Can See

Turn each item on or off under What Clients Can See:

  • Rejected Options: keep rejected items visible to your client. When it's off, rejected items disappear from their view.

  • Item URLs

  • Item Supplier

  • Item Manufacturers

  • Item Models

  • Item Lead Time

  • Item Codes

  • Item Statuses

  • Item Pricing

  • Item Discount and Item Markup: turn on Item Pricing first. These are at the bottom of the list, so scroll down to see them.

Choose What Clients Can Do

  • Approve or reject items: lets your client approve or reject items you've set to Proposed.

  • Clients can change their decision: lets your client switch between Approved and Rejected. It's on by default and only works when Approve or reject items is on.

When you're done, click Apply.

Good to Know

  • Don't see Item Discount or Item Markup? Scroll down in the What Clients Can See list. They're below the other settings.

  • Unspecified items are hidden: items set to Unspecified aren't visible to your client, and their pricing isn't included until you update the status. See Update Item Status.

  • Rejected items and totals: rejected items aren't counted in project totals.
