Area codes are enabled by default in Gather, but you can turn them off if your workflow doesn't require them. There are two places to do this, depending on whether you want to change the default for all new projects or just a specific project.
Option 1: Turn Off Area Codes for All New Projects
This changes the default so that every new project you create will have area codes turned off.
1. Click the Account icon in the bottom-left navigation bar.
2. Select Settings from the menu.
3. Under Project Settings Defaults, find the "Show Codes for Areas" toggle and flip it off.
Option 2: Turn Off Area Codes for a Specific Project
This only affects the project you're currently working on.
1. Open the project and click the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Project Settings.
2. Find the "Show Codes for Areas" toggle and flip it off.
📝 Note: Changing the default in General Settings only affects new projects. Existing projects keep their current setting. To change an existing project, use Option 2.
