Share and Export a Spec Package

Share a spec package as a link your client can open online, or save it as a PDF in your project files.

Written by Scottie Elliott

When your document is ready, you can send it as a link your client opens online, or save it as a PDF in the project's Files.

Share a link

  1. In the export preview, click Share.

  2. Give the link a name. Under General access, choose who can open it:

    • Anyone with the link opens without signing in.

    • Selected people lets you pick project members or enter email addresses. Gather emails an invitation to everyone you add.

  3. Click Create link, then copy the link.

The link opens the finished document in a web page, with your fonts and colors.

To create and copy a link in one step, click the copy icon next to Share.

Find, copy, or turn off a link

Every link you create is saved in the project's Files tab, in the Shared links folder. Each link shows its name, the date it was prepared, its status, and who shared it.

Click the three dots on a link to:

  • Open shared link to see what your client sees.

  • Open Preview to reopen it in the export preview.

  • Copy link to copy the address again.

  • Revoke to turn the link off.

Export the PDF

  1. In the export preview, click Export.

  2. Check the File Name, and choose a File Folder if you want one.

  3. Check Client Visible if the client should see the file.

  4. Click Export & Save.

Gather generates the PDF and saves it to the project's Files tab.
