Product tags are small, colored labels you create once and add to items in any project. Use them for your own workflow, like marking items that need attention, need a pricing check, or are ready to order. They work alongside item statuses, which track where an item is in the buying process.
Product tags are available on the Core and Core Plus plans. They are visible to your team only, never to clients.
Create a tag in Settings
Open Settings from the account menu in the left navigation.
Choose Tags, then open the Products tab. You'll see every product tag your team has created, with a Use Count showing how many items each one is on.
Click the + button.
Enter a Name and pick a Color. A preview shows how the tag will look.
Add a Note (up to 500 characters) so your team knows when to use it.
Click Save.
Tag names must be unique, ignoring capital letters. Only owners and admins can create, rename, or delete tags.
Create a tag while you work
You can also create a tag on the fly from an item in your project, without opening Settings. Type a new name in the item's tag box, pick a color, and click Create.
See Add and Remove Product Tags on Items for the steps. You can add a note to the tag afterward in Settings.
Edit or delete a tag
In Settings > Tags > Products, use the pencil icon to rename a tag or change its color and note. Use the trash icon to delete it. Deleting a tag removes it from every item that has it, so Gather asks you to confirm first.
Tips
Keep names short and action-based, like "Price Checked" or "Ready to Order".
Use the note field to explain when to use a tag, so everyone on the team uses it the same way.
Tags are for your team. They don't replace item status, and clients don't see them.
